Direct flights from Australia to Los Angeles generally take around 13 to 14 hours, with direct flights available from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
If you’re an Australia citizen heading to the USA, you won’t need a visa but you will need to apply for an ESTA to qualify.

While LA is home to five airports in total, flights from Australia will likely be arriving at Los Angeles International, also known by its IATA code, LAX.

The easiest option to get into the city is by taking a shuttle bus, with shuttle C taking you to the Metro bus centre, from where you can get to Downtown or Hollywood or Santa Monica.
Shuttle G will take you to the closest train station, where you can jump on the Green Line of the local metro system.
