There are four seasons in Shanghai, and there can be a fair amount of rain at times, but it is generally warm all year round. The best times to visit are spring and the beginning of autumn when the city isn’t so crowded. In July and August, temperatures can climb to over 35 degrees. The coldest months are January and February.
