Guangzhou City Guide

Formerly known as Canton, the port city of Guangzhou is China’s busiest transport and trade hub, found just northwest of Hong Kong on the Pearl River.

Aside from its prominence in international trade, Guangzhou is known for its thriving food scene and is considered to be the birthplace of dim sum.

While this sprawling metropolis is home to plenty of skyscrapers and shopping malls, there’s also a historic and cultural heart to the city.
